Gorm studio

August 25th, 2009 by msalou

I really like details in this compact kitchen concept by Orgeon based Gorm studio. (the number 2 flow kitchen by Gorm studio, you can check out the first concept here). A green kitchen with worm composter, edible plant and lots of good ideas.

Édouard François > green buildings

August 9th, 2009 by ntimm

When it comes to green buildings, few architects today can touch Édouard François of Paris. in François’ view, working with nature offers a welcome complexity: ‘Watch a tree. It has a thousand branches, it moves, grows, changes colour!’ He builds with what are known as green façades, much simpler than the current rage of living walls as they are planted in the ground and do not need elaborate watering systems…

The whole story on treehugger.

100 Abandoned Houses

July 26th, 2009 by ntimm

The US alone currently has enough surplus housing to put the entire population of the U.K., with room left over for Israel.
The abandoned houses project is as breathtaking as it it depressing.
You can purchase prints from this serie and parts of the proceeds are going to a charity or non-profit organization.

My home has melted

July 10th, 2009 by ntimm

After a successful viral campaign in DC, Greenpeace has brought Mark Jenkins’ Polar Bears to Rome to help sway some support for actions against Global Warming at the upcoming G-8 summit. Sitting in heavily-touristed areas, the homeless bears displayed signs encouraging the G-8 leaders to act against global warming. One sign read, “My home has melted” and “I’m a climate refugee.”

DON’T touch my banana

July 8th, 2009 by ntimm

A 13 pence la banane, il serait idiot de ne pas la protéger des afflictions terribles de la vie. Emballage, sur-emballage et mauvais emballage semble être un thème récurent à l’échelle internationale. Plus d’exemples sur treehugger
