Amino Assets blends lo-fi box geometries with hi-res textures, global illumination and artificial linear 3D/parallax camera movements. It illustrates the creative process of database design or designing things without a preconception: while browsing through databases of images, the creative combination of tags leads to unexpected findings. on the production end, this results in the recombination of images previously not considered to be in the same category. Our own version of imagineering.

Work featured at the ZEITGUISED solo exhibition ‘CONSTRUCTING’ at fluctuating images in Stuttgart, Germany. Featured in dotmov 2006.

OSKAR FISCHINGER is one of the most important (and lately overlooked) avant-garde animator and painter.

BLACK RIVER FESTIVAL

Le festival BLACK RIVER a commencé ce 22 Octobre en Autriche, à Vienne et expose le travail de plusieurs artistes incluant KNOW HOPE, MARK JENKINS ou encore AAKASH NIHALANI (dont nous avions déjà parlé dans ce précédent post). On apprend aussi que le festival tient son nom du Danube : pas à cause de la qualité de l’eau, non, non, mais bien à cause de l’origine du 2nd plus long fleuve d’Europe. Il prend sa source en Forêt Noire et se jette dans la Mer….Noire).

Parce que j’ai toujours aimé le skateboard, j’ai trouvé pertinent de faire partager une initiative menée par le magazine Transworld Skateboarding, LA bible de la planche à roulette (et du nombre de page dédiées aux publicités), le Skate and Create. Le principe est simple 1 warehouse, 4 teams, 1 set of obstacles, 9 days per team….à l’initiative de chacune des marques formant les 4 équipes de développer leur propre environnement et de mettre en scène leur team dans l’espace créé.

DVS, DC, OSIRIS, CIRCA j’en passe et des meilleurs. Un échantillon qui nous rappelle que la frontière entre jeux video et vrai vie n’est pas si grande que ça…
